Ryan Pettit, seeks election for the Iowa Geographic Information Council board. With a background in urban planning and GIS, including certifications from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and GIS Professional Certification, his career spans roles in engineering firms, municipal government, and entrepreneurship. He relocated back to Iowa in Spring of 2023 as a GIS/Transportation Research Scientist at Iowa State University's Institute of Transportation. With extensive experience in ESRI products since 2007, Ryan's self-taught knowledge and passion for GIS technology drive his desire to contribute to the IGIC Board, aiming to enhance professional networks and support GIS users across Iowa, while furthering his own capabilities in the field.
